Galvanized steel pipe is a hollow square cross-section light-weight thin-walled steel pipe, also known as steel cold-formed profile. It is a section steel with a square cross-section shape and size made of Q235 hot-rolled or cold-rolled strip or coil as the base material, which is cold-bent and then high-frequency welded. In addition to the thickened wall thickness of the hot-rolled extra-thick-wall galvanized steel pipe, its corner size and edge straightness reach or even exceed the level of resistance-welded cold-formed galvanized steel pipe. The main welding process for welding galvanized steel pipe
Welding narrower blanks of galvanized steel pipes to produce welded pipes with larger diameters, and the same width of blanks can also be used to produce welded pipes with different diameters. However, compared with the straight seam galvanized steel pipe of the same length, the weld length is increased by 30-100%, and the production speed is lower.
Welded galvanized steel pipes with large diameter or thicker diameter are generally directly made of steel billets, while small welded pipes and thin-walled welded pipes only need to be directly welded by steel strips. Then after a simple polishing, brushing on it. Therefore, most of the welded pipes with smaller diameters adopt straight seam welding, and most of the large diameter welded pipes adopt spiral welding. Good comprehensive mechanical properties, good weldability, cold and hot workability and corrosion resistance, and good low temperature toughness.
The production process of galvanized steel pipe is simple, the production efficiency is high, the cost is low, and the development is rapid. The strength of the spiral welded pipe is generally higher than that of the galvanized steel pipe, and the welded pipe with a larger diameter can be produced with a narrower billet, and the welded pipe with a different diameter can be produced with the same width billet. But compared with the straight seam pipe of the same length, the weld length is increased by 30~100%, and the production speed is lower.
Therefore, most of the galvanized pipes with smaller diameters adopt straight seam welding, and the large diameter welded pipes mostly use spiral galvanized steel pipes. Due to the condition that the circumference is equal, the area of the circle is the largest, and more fluid can be transported with a circular tube. In addition, when the ring section is subjected to internal or external radial pressure, the force is relatively uniform, so most steel pipes are round pipes.
