The surface quality of a Hastelloy rod depends on the pickling process after heat treatment, but if the surface oxide formed by the previous heat treatment process is thick or the structure is uneven, it will lead to uneven surface of the steel plate. Therefore, when performing heat treatment and heating, it must be kept uniform to form oxide skin. So to meet this requirement, mainly do the following points.

(1) If oil is attached to the surface of the workpiece during heating, and the thickness and composition of the oxide scale at the oil attachment part are different from those of other parts, carburization will occur. The base metal under the oxide skin will be severely attacked by the carburized part. Therefore, the operator must not directly touch the Hastelloy rod with his hands, and do not let the workpiece be stained with new oil. Clean gloves must be worn.

(2) If there are impurities on the surface of the workpiece of the Hastelloy rod, it must wait until the organic matter or ash adheres to the workpiece, and the oxide scale will naturally be affected by heating.

(3) There is a certain difference in the oxide scale produced on the surface of the Hastelloy rod that is directly in contact with the flame of gas or oil and the place that is not in contact. Therefore, it is necessary to keep the treatment piece from directly contacting the flame port during heating.

(4) If parts of the treated parts still have residual scale before heat treatment, then after heating, there will be parts with residual scale and parts without scale, and there will be differences in the thickness and composition of the scale , which in turn will lead to uneven surface after pickling. Therefore, not only the heat treatment of the final Hastelloy rod should be paid attention to, but also the heat treatment and pickling in the middle should also be paid attention to.
